Cruise ships latest to employ robot bartenders
A new line of luxury cruise ships are to set sail with a number of high-tech innovations, including a “Bionic Bar” and robot bartenders.
Robot bartenders will serve drinks on-board a new line of luxury cruise ships
According to the Telegraph, passengers on new Royal Caribbean International ships, called Quantum and Anthem of the Seas, can order their drinks by tablets, which will then be served by robotic arms.
Other high-tech features of the ships include virtual balconies, luggage trackers, “Roboscreens” for gaming, and a bespoke cruise ship app.
“The new technologies make things possible at sea that could never have been done before,” Stuart Leven, managing director at RCI, told the Telegraph.
“The Robot bartenders, RFID luggage tracking devices and Roboscreens, among others, are complete game-changers for the industry and we’re confident that guests will be blown away when they step onboard.”
Innovations in “robot” bartenders have been progressing in recent years.
Earlier this month, the Butler3000, a so-called robot cocktail bartender, launched in the US, while another robot bartender designed for domestic use, called Monsieur, was unveiled at the start of the year.
