Beam Suntory appoints SABMiller man as new CFO
Beam Suntory has hired SABMiller’s Mauricio Restrepo as its new chief financial officer, following the resignation of several of its senior executives earlier this year.

Restrepo, previously regional finance director for SABMiller’s European business, will join Beam Suntory in Q4 when he will assume responsibility for global finance organisation.
He will also simultaneously serve on the Beam Suntory executive leadership team as well as the board of directors, reporting directly into Matt Shattock, company CEO.
Hi appointment at Beam Suntory follows the resignation of former CFO Robert Probst, who left the group in April this year ahead of Suntory’s takeover of Beam for “personal reasons”. Probst left the Illinois-based drinks group along with president of North America Bill Newlands and corporate controller Leo Mierzwicki.
Tim Hassett, formerly of the Campbell Soup Company, joined Beam Suntory as North America president in July this year.
“Mauricio is a highly experienced international finance leader whose background includes 12 years in the beverage alcohol industry,” said Shattock. “During his career, Mauricio has collaborated closely with commercial and operating teams to achieve financial and strategic goals.
“He has been a leader in developing successful growth strategies, driving margin expansion, and building the capabilities of his teams, and I am confident he will be an excellent fit for Beam Suntory.”
Restrepo has also previously held the position of CFO of SABMiller, as well as several commercial and finance positions at Random House, automaker SOFASA and JP Morgan.
