Artists called upon to transform Tequila barrels
Artists have been invited to transform Tequila Herradura’s oak barrels into works of art as part of a project that will raise $70,000 for charity, and reward winning entrants with a cut of $100,000.
The brand’s second “barrel art collection” program was announced today which will give artists the chance to create original pieces of work using Herradura’s oak barrels as their canvas.
The competition is open to artists in Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, and San Francisco, with the overall winner from each region set to receive US$10,000 each, with additional cash prizes for second and third place.

From meeting different artists and making new friends, to the grand finale event we had a great experience and would recommend it to anyone.”
Artists’ works will be judged on its originality, creativity, overall quality and its representation of Tequila Herradura.
A total of US$70,000 will also be donated by the brand to Creative Capital – an organisation that supports upcoming artists with funding, counselling and career development services.

“We are thrilled to create a platform where artists can use these same barrels as their medium for creating unique pieces to be showcased for our fans.”
