Four Roses to release 2014 single barrel Bourbon

Bourbon distillery Four Roses will soon release the 2014 limited edition in its annual series of single barrel bottlings.

Four Roses 2014 Limited Edition Single Barrel Bourbon is poised to launch

The 11-year-old Bourbon was produced at the Lawrenceburg-based distillery from a mashbill of 75% corn, 20% rye and 5% malted barley.

“This year’s limited edition single-barrel is a tribute to the loyal following we are so fortunate to have,” said Four Roses master distiller Jim Rutledge.

“The Bourbon went into the barrel and was put away at a time when Four Roses had just returned to the states, and it’s remarkable to see how far we’ve come as a company since then.”

Bottled at barrel strength, non-chill-filtered and uncut, the Bourbon has an abv ranging between 52.2% and 54.3% and carries an RRP of around US$100.

Reports claim that only 5,000 bottles of Four Roses 2014 Limited Edition Single Barrel Bourbon will be available globally, while Europe will receive around 1,900 bottles.

In celebration of its 150th anniversary, Four Roses declared that 2013 would be the ‘Year of the Toast’ and asked consumers to send their own personal toasts to a dedicated website.

One such toast by Kentucky local Frank Wheatley read “If I could age like bourbon, I wouldn’t mind getting old”, and is featured on the back of the new limited edition bottle.
