Agave Loco Brands joins DISCUS

Tequila and rum producer Agave Loco Brands has become the 16th member of the Distilled Spirits Council of the US (DISCUS).

Agave Loco Brands has become the 16th member of US spirits trade organisation DISCUS

The Illinois-based company produces rum brand RumChata, which has been identified by some analysts as one of the fastest growing new products in the US spirits industry over the last four years, and its namesake Tequila brand, Agave Loco Pepper-Cured Tequila.

“Agave Loco is a dynamic, growing company that has new and innovative high-quality products,” said DISCUS president and CEO Peter H. Cressy.

“The company shares our strong commitment to social responsibility and we’re pleased to welcome them to the Council.”

It was revealed earlier this month that Scotland-based Edrington, producer of The Macallan Scotch whisky and Brugal rum, had become the 15th member of DISCUS shortly after the launch of its US distribution arm.

DISCUS is a national trade association representing US distillers and serves as the industry’s voice on public policy and legislative issues.
