Ireland’s Dingle Gin treads US market

Ireland’s Dingle Gin has secured distribution in the US through A. Hardy USA, where it is expected to become a “market leader”.

Dingle Gin will be distributed in the US through A. Hardy USA

Produced at the Dingle Distillery in County Kerry, Ireland, Dingle Gin is distilled in small batches with a range of botanicals including Rowan Berry, Fuscia, Bog Myrtle, Heather, Chervil and Hawthorn.

The gin, one of only two brands produced in Ireland, was introduced to the US market with a St. Patrick’s Day celebration in New York.

Although the first major export market for Dingle Distillery, founder Oliver Hughes expects the company to eventually expand to countries around the globe.

Dingle Distillery will establish the group’s route to market in the States, ready for the launch of its Irish whiskey in 2015.

Mark Levinson, president of A. Hardy USA, said: “Gin is enjoying a resurgence in popularity. Younger consumers have discovered gin. Classic gin-based cocktails such as the Martini, Gimlet and gin & tonic are proving to be popular again across all age groups.

“We anticipate a growing demand for high-end gins and fully expect Dingle to be a leader in the U.S. market.”

With 120 distributor partners, A.Hardy USA expects Dingle Gin to be present across the States within six months.
