Umami vodka and pink pepper gin launch in UK
French boutique distillery Audemus Spirits is to launch an umami vodka and pink peppercorn gin in the UK this spring.

The first commercial batch of Pink Pepper Gin, of around 500 bottles, will be available in the UK in March.
Vacuum distilled in a rotavap, Pink Pepper Gin contains nine botanicals, including pink peppercorns, juniper, cardamom, and a honey distillate. Described as “very complex,” the 44% abv gin is designed to be drunk in a gin and tonic or on its own with a dash of bitters. It will retail for around €40.
Launching slightly later in the spring will be Ausemus’ Umami Vodka, a savoury spirit featuring a caper distillate combined with three other secret ingredients.
Umami Vodka has been created to particularly suit dry or salty cocktails, and will retail for around €30.
“My aim is to create atypical and awesome spirits,” said Miko Abouaf, founder of Audemus Spirits. “This is all part of the same mentality of boosting the dynamism of the spirits industry, as well as working with the ‘Made in France’ label to make something which is contemporary, built on traditions of the past.”
As well as producing Umami Vodka and Pink Pepper Gin, Audemus Spirits creates tailor-made products for small to medium-sized clients, such as bars, luxury brands and independent groups.
