The campaign is part of the brand’s Havana Cultura initiative, which promotes Cuban “creativity and culture”.
François Renie, communications director at Havana Club International, said: “Havana Club Cultura Mix further expands the appeal of the Havana Cultura programme with a unique gathering of both aspirational and established producers from around the world making original music with the most exciting Cuban artists and Gilles Peterson.”
The deadline for applications is 31 March. Those wishing to apply should go to www.havanaculturamix.com.
Entries will be judged by both a public vote and by a range of music industry experts, including Gilles Peterson.
“My partnership with Havana Club to date has been hugely rewarding,” said Peterson. “I’ve worked with some amazing artists and we’ve produced four amazing albums.
“Havana Club Cultura Mix takes this one step further, I’m hoping that as well as make another great album, we also uncover a new crop of producing talent.”
