Nathan Merriman seeks bartenders for live audition
By Becky PaskinNathan Merriman and Lee Potter Cavanagh are holding a mass audition for bartenders to join their team at their soon-to-open London bar Big Easy Covent Garden.
Big Easy Covent Garden is due to open in FebruaryThe well-known UK-based bartenders are holding an open audition to recruit a team of staff for their new Big Easy BBQ and crabshack-style bar in Covent Garden, which is due to open in February.
Named the Big Easy #Draft2014, the recruitment drive is a novel way to catch the attention of the bartending industry – both experienced and novice.
Lee Potter Cavanagh, executive bartender at Big Easy, said: “With the Big Easy Draft 2014 we’re trying something a little bit unconventional. Bartenders aren’t accountants so why would we follow the same recruitment process as them?”
Potter Cavanagh and Merriman have designed a series of practical tests to assess the skill, personality and hospitality approach of those auditioning.
“We want someone bold, someone who has character, someone who smiles and someone who acknowledges every person who comes into the bar and creates a really special experience,” added Merriman, bar manager of Big Easy Covent Garden.
Those wishing to audition should register using this link before 6 December. The Big Easy #Draft 2014 will take place on 10 and 11 December. Only those candidates successfully through to the live audition will be contacted.
