Jim Beam launches Single Barrel Bourbon
Jim Beam is to launch its first single barrel Bourbon in an effort to offer consumers a longer ladder of products.
Jim Beam is extending its range of Bourbon with a Single Barrel release
With an RRP of US$34.99, Jim Beam Single Barrel Bourbon will sit near the top end of the Kentucky Straight Bourbon brand’s range upon its release in March 2014.
Specific barrels have been hand-selected at the distillery for the expression, to “ensure a unique profile and premium quality that make for a perfectly crafted Bourbon”.
Less than 1% of the whiskey produced by the distillery will be used in Jim Beam Single Barrel, suggesting the release may be in limited quantities.
Bottled at 47.5% abv, the expression is described as “full-bodied with sweet, rich, well-balanced attributes of oak, vanilla and caramel”.
Visitors to the Jim Beam American Stillhouse will also be given the opportunity to hand-fill their own bottle of Single Barrel from February 2014, and purchase a full barrel from later on in the year.
The expression follows the launch this year of Jim Beam Signature Craft 12 Year Old, which carries an RRP of US$39.99.
