Auchentoshan re-releases rare 1975 Scotch

Auchentoshan has released a second bottling of a rare 1975 single malt Scotch exclusively into global travel retail.

Only 500 bottles of Auchentoshan 1975 have been released

Having first launched the 1975 American oak-aged whisky in 2011, the distillery is now releasing just 500 bottles of the same batch that have been aged for an additional year.

The 38-year-old whisky is non-chill filtered and bottled at a cask strength of 45.6% abv. It ‘s described as having notes of papaya and pink grapefruit as well as baked pineapple and almond cake.

Rachel Barrie, master blender for Auchentoshan, said: “Having spent an additional year maturing in the highest quality North American bourbon casks, the 2013 bottling of Auchentoshan 1975 allows the drinker to experience the complexity and ripe, developed fruit flavours associated with a whisky of this vintage.’’

The second bottling of Auchentoshan 1975 is available in airports globally at an RRP of £500.
