SPI appoints duty free director for US
SPI Group, owner of Stolichnaya vodka, has strengthened its travel retail arm with the appointment of a North America duty free director.
John Karem has been announced as SPI’s new duty free director for North America
John Karem will be responsible for SPI’s duty free business in the region, with a particular focus on Stolichnaya vodka and its new elit expression.
Jean-Phillippe Aucher, global duty free and travel retail director for SPI, said: “John’s expertise in the travel retail space and spirits industry savvy, coupled with his extensive background in global business development and sales management will be a huge asset for our expanding duty free sector in North America.”
Karem previously held the position of principal for Bibo Mundi, where he identified winery and distillery purchase opportunities and negotiated sales.
He was also previously director for global business development at Phillips Distilling Company and vice president of brand development at Liquidity LLC.
