Glenfiddich launches 25 Year Old and Age of Discovery tri-packBy Becky Paskin
William Grant & Sons is preparing to launch a Glenfiddich 25 Year Old as a global travel retail exclusive in early 2014.
The special edition will become a permanent addition to the single malt Scotch brand’s travel retail portfolio, which also features the Glenfiddich Age of Discovery trio.
The Glenfiddich 25 Year Old is a marriage of whisky aged in European Sherry butts and American Bourbon barrels, with a Sherry finish. Bottled at 43% abv, the whisky is described as having notes of dried fruits, ginger, spice, tobacco and Demerara sugar with distinctive oaky tones.
The expression will be rolled out to Glenfiddich’s key travel retail markets from Q1 2014.
In addition to the Glenfiddich 25 Year Old launch, William Grant & Sons has also launched a tri-pack of its popular Glenfiddich Age of Discovery. Featuring 200ml bottles of all three expressions in the range – Bourbon Cask Reserve, Red Wine Cask Finish and Madeira Cask Finish – the tri-pack is now available in global travel retail at an RRP of £75.
