Campari releases coffee liqueur and Tequila mix
Campari America has extended its Cabo Wabo Tequila brand with the launch of a coffee liqueur mixed with Tequila.
Cabo Diablo, has launched in selected American markets in the run-up to halloween
Cabo Diablo is a blend of coffee liqueur made with Arabica beans and 100% blue weber agave Cabo Wabo Blanco Tequila, an expression which is part of the Tequila brand founded by Montrose and Van Halen lead singer Sammy Hagar.
The expression is described as having notes of roasted coffee, vanilla and chocolate, as well as sweet flavours of blue agave and honey.
“Cabo Wabo Tequila was founded by famed rocker Sammy Hagar so we wanted to make sure we captured his devilish, no-holds-barred, fun-loving attitude in Cabo Diablo”, said Kathleen Schuart, senior marketing director at Campari America.
“With Cabo Diablo, we take the popular coffee liqueur category and body slam it with a kick of our gold medal-winning blanco tequila that will make all other shots pale in comparison.”
Aimed towards consumers celebrating Halloween, Cabo Diablo is being marketed as a “devilish mix” and features a colour-changing label that reveals a spooky image when chilled.
Bottled at 35% abv, the new release is now available on limited release in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Wisconsin at an RRP of US$22.99.
