Amarula creates cream-free Marula Gold liqueur

Amarula, the world’s second-biggest selling cream liqueur, has launched a dairy-free version named Amarula Marula Gold in South Africa, with plans to roll the expression out to global travel retail.

Amarula Marula Gold is the first brand extension from the Distell-owned Amarula

Amarula Marula Gold uses the same double-distilled and oak-matured recipe as original Amarula, but with the omission of cream.

Brand owner Distell has already launched the new liqueur in South African domestic retail, but plans on rolling the product out to global travel retail through distribution partner Underberg AG in March 2014.

Available in a 700ml bottle, Amarula Marula Gold will be available for around 20% more than Amarula original.
