New Tequila app detects users taste preferences
By Becky PaskinA Tequila-loving duo have launched a new Tequila Matchmaker app that can detect a person’s unique flavour and budget preference and recommend Tequilas to match.
The Tequila Matchmaker app has a database of 2,280 Tequilas
By using similar algorithms to dating websites, the Tequila Matchmaker app can help users discover Tequilas to suit their own individual preferences before they’ve tasted them.
The brainchild of Grover and Scarlet Sanschagrin, the app is being launched in the US to coincide with National Tequila Day on July 24.
“Let’s face it, paying good money for a Tequila you’ve never tried before is like going on a blind date. Chances are, it won’t work out,” said Scarlet Sanschagrin. “But with this app in your pocket, trustworthy advice is a finger tap away.”
The app generates a database of flavour and price information every time a user ‘likes’ a Tequila, and then offers suggestions of other Tequilas likely to appeal to the user’s tastes. Its database includes 2,280 Tequilas from 1,270 brands.
“We wanted to make tequila accessible to more people, and thought we could do that by using the same type of technology at play in the online dating world,” said Grover Sanschagrin. “The results have been surprisingly accurate.”
