Beam releases first extra anejo Sauza Tequila

Casa Sauza XA TequilaIts launch, Beam claims, is to capitalise on a growing consumer interest for “more sophisticated and refined Tequilas”.
Maade using Weber blue agave and aged in small American oak barrels for more than three years, Casa Sauza XA will be launched in liquor stores in the US and Mexico, as well as into global travel retail.
Just 12,000 of the 750ml bottles have been produced, with only 1,800 destined for the US. Presented in a glass decanter with a distressed leather strap and buckle, housed inside a signature gift box, Casa Sauza XA carries an RRP of US$150.
“Limited-edition bottlings and special small batch, premium expressions are among the most significant new developments in the Tequila category,” said Gigi Dadan, global Tequila marketing director at Beam. “This new, signature expression is a nod to our pioneering spirit and dedication to creating exceptionally fine Tequila for today’s sophisticated palates.”
Beam describes Casa Sauza XA as delivering jasmine, hibiscus, almond and chocolate notes alongside the brand’s characteristic agave flavour.
“When served in a nosing glass, the aroma of Casa Sauza XA unravels, captivating the senses to deliver a refined, one-of-a-kind tasting experience,” explained Victormanuel Martinez, Casa Sauza chef and sommelier. “It’s perfect when paired with coffee or rich desserts, such as tiramisu, black forest cake or even pecan pie.”
