Absolut launches first floral flavour Absolut Hibiskus

The Absolut Company is launching its first ever floral flavoured vodka – Absolut Hibiskus – in the US next month.

Absolut Hibiskus vodka will be launched in the US in January 2013

A blend of hibiscus and pomegranate flavours, with no added sugar, Absolut Hibiskus is intended to appeal to bartenders using floral ingredients to make cocktails.

“In recent years, in bars all over the world, a new sophistication has emerged regarding floral concoctions, said Nodjame Fouad, global marketing director for The Absolut Company. “People have begun to appreciate the many possibilities flowers bring to the world of cocktails.

“We’re very excited that today for the first time Absolut brings a floral flavored vodka to market. What I particularly like about Absolut Hibiskus is that its combination of flavors is fiercely original, bringing cocktail culture in a new unexpected direction.”

The new flavour will be available in the on- and off-trade in the US from January 2013.

Absolut suggests mixing the vodka with cranberry juice or ginger beer for a long drink, or with other floral flavours in a cocktail.

Absolut Blueblood
2 parts Absolut Hibiskus
3/4 part dry sherry
1 part lemon juice
1/2 part simple syrup
1 bar spoon creme de violette
Soda to taste

Absolut Hibiskus Daisy

2 parts Absolut Hibiskus
¾ part fresh lemon juice
¾ part simple syrup
½ part pomegranate syrup
