Thomas Henry Victorian Tonic Bitters arrives in UK
German bitters specialist The Bitter Truth has launched its Tonic Bitters, based on the legacy of a Mancunian apothecary, in the UK.
The Bitter Truth’s Thomas Henry Tonic Bitters is now available in the UK
Already available in the US, Thomas Henry Tonic Bitters has been designed to reflect the carbonated water first produced by its eponymous apothecary in the early 1800s.
By 1858 the drink was seen as medicinal, and had been mixed with ginger, lemon and tonic.
In homage to the inventor of carbonated water, Thomas Henry Tonic Bitters (43% abv) has been produced to match perfectly with gin and sparkling tonic.
Containing Sicilian lemon, orange and grapefruit alongside juniper and coriander, The Bitter Truth claim the bitters is perfect for mixing with any white spirit in a long drink or cocktail.
The drink is distributed in the UK via Love Drinks, and is available in 200ml bottles for £10.50.
