The Dorchester Collection pushes innovation in its European venues
By Marinel FitzSimonsThe international luxury hotel and restaurant group the Dorchester Collection is pushing innovation in some of its top European venues through pop-up bars, interactive menus and limited edition cocktails.
The group’s flagship hotel, The Dorchester in London, is celebrating London Fashion Week this September, with a particular focus on Teatum Jones. Guests can toast the launch of the English fashion duo’s Spring/Summer ’13 collection the with a tailor made Champagne cocktail, the Odyssey, containing Sipsmith gin, Van Wees rose liqueur, nettle cordial, raspberries and lemongrass.
In keeping with the pro-British theme of the summer, patriots and Brit-enthusiasts alike can show their support for Queen and country with a Cavalry Charge cocktail (gin, wild strawberry liqueur, ginger beer, fresh lime and blue Curaçao). The cocktail, made by The Dorchester bar manager Guiliano Morandin and fashion journalist Hilary Alexander costs £17, of which £2 goes to the Household Cavalry Operational Casualties Fund.
A jaunt across the Channel to ‘Le Bar’ at the group’s Parisian Hotel Plaza Athénée where guests can play with the newly installed interactive menu on which they can order drinks, as well as try their luck on a virtual slot machine with free cocktails as prizes.
Yet further south to the group’s Italian venue, the Hotel Principe di Savoia, Milan, the fashion-orientated hotel has collaborated with designer Fendi to create the Principe Champagne Bar in their Italian Gardens, open to guests and public alike.
