Sipsmith installs Gin Palace at The Langham London
By Becky PaskinLondon’s artisan distillery Sipsmith is to launch a Victorian-style gin palace at The Langham, London hotel next month.
The Sipsmith Gin Palace will take over the Palm Court space at the Langham London Hotel
The Sipsmith Gin Palace will take over the five-star hotel’s Palm Court, traditionally used to serve afternoon tea, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 13 September with live jazz and a strictly gin focus.
The cocktail menu, devised by Sipsmith master distiller Jared Brown and The Langham’s head mixologist Alex Kratena, is inspired by gin’s 320-year history.
Cocktails represent different stages of gin’s evolution, from its conception in 1690 through to the rise of molecular mixology.
To complement the drinks list, the Langham’s food and beverage team has designed a bar menu reflecting London’s traditional gin palaces, such as The Princess Louise in Holborn and the Princess Victoria in Shepherd’s Bush.
The Sipsmith Gin Palace will be open from 7pm until midnight
