Angostura searches for new global brand ambassador
By Becky PaskinBartenders around the world are being invited to take part in national heats of Angostura’s 2013 Global Cocktail Challenge, for the chance to win US$10,000 and become a global brand ambassador.
The Angostura Global Cocktail Challenge 2013 is now open for entries
National heats are taking place around the world throughout August and September, including the US, Canada, Europe, South America, Africa, Taiwan, Russia, India, Australia, Trinidad and the Caribbean.
For the first time, entrants to the UK heat are requested to include a short, three-minute video of themselves making and presenting an Angostura bitters cocktail with their entry on www.facebook.com/AngsturaUK by 14 September.
Cocktail recipes, and the videos themselves, will be judged on appearance, aroma and taste, while demonstrating the versatility of Angostura aromatic bitters.
Alison Gibb, international brand manager for Angostura, said: “We’re expecting an extremely high caliber of entrants to this year’s UK contest making it one of the highlights of London Cocktail Week. Our finalists seem to get better each year and we can’t wait to see the cocktails they will be sharing with us.
“It will definitely be a fierce competition where the versatility and excellence of the brand will be shown to its fullest extent.”
Twelve bartenders from competing nations will be invited on a trip to Trinidad and Tobago to participate in the Trinidad Carnival and compete in the grand final for a chance to become Angostura’s global brand ambassador.
