Alexandre Ricard to take over as Pernod CEO
Alexandre Ricard is to succeed Pierre Pringuet as CEO of Pernod Ricard in 2015, marking just one of several board changes at the French drinks company since the death of Patrick Ricard this month.
Alexandre Ricard, Pernod Ricard’s new CEO in the making
Alexandre, who is currently managing director of Pernod’s distribution network, has been appointed deputy CEO and COO with immediate effect.
However with Pringuet due to reach the ‘statutory age limit’ for a CEO at the company at the end of January 2015, Pernod has outlined plans to appoint Alexandre ahead of time.
Pringuet, who personally suggested Alexandre as his successor, has in the interim been appointed vice-chairman of the board.
“I am delighted to have Alexandre Ricard at my side: we will continue, as we always have, to work in close collaboration,” Pringuet said.
Meanwhile Daniele Ricard, chairman of the management board, will now become chairman of the board of directors.
“As chairman of the board of directors, I would like to reiterate the Ricard family’s commitment to pursue the Group’s strategy and development,” she said. “Pierre Pringuet and his management team have our full support.”
The changes come as Pernod Ricard reported its highest growth since 2007/08, with sales up 8% for the year 2011/12.
