1800 Tequila issues US recall
By Phoebe Brookes1800 Tequila has issued a voluntary US nationwide recall of 1800 Tequila 1.75 litre Silver, Reposado and Coconut varieties, due to the risk of glass particles in the bottles.
The glass stoppers of some of the bottles were damaged during the transportation and handling process. The recall is a precautionary measure to ensure no consumers are harmed.
On Monday, the ABLE Commission said refunds are available to those affected and asked all stores selling 1800 Tequila to return bottles to their wholesaler and all consumers urged not to drink the recalled products.
1800 Tequila Añejo, Select Silver and 1800 Ultimate Margarita and all other sizes (50 ml, 200ml, 375ml, 750 ml and 1 litre) have not been affected and are safe to buy.
Consumers can check the codes on their bottles against the list of impacted codes, which can be found here.
