First Drinks launches The Balvenie Caribbean Cask in UK
UK distributor First Drinks is rolling out The Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 Year Old Scotch to the British market this September.
The Balvenie Caribbean Cask is now available in the UK
Having already been launched in the US for the past 12 months, The Balvenie’s latest addition to its core range has been finished for up to five months in American oak casks that once contained a bespoke blend of three Caribbean rums, picked by master distiller David Stewart.
Due to hit UK shelves from 1 September with an RRP of £42, The Balvenie Caribbean Cask (43% abv) is a permenant addition to the Speyside distillery’s range.
Its launch is part of partially-revealed plans by the distillery to “create age consistency” amongst its profiles.
“This isn’t the only news we have right now,” said Dr Andrew Forrester, The Balvenie brand ambassador. “It’s a step in constructing a taste ladder that will create clarity for our drinkers. Consumers need clarity and don’t always know enough about The Balvenie, so moving from a 12 year-old to a 14 year-old is an easy journey.”
While The Balvenie has said the Caribbean Cask will not replace any other expression in its range, the move is likely in the future as its core lineup is shifted to meet its new consistency aims, likely to take shape over the next 12-24 months.
The Balvenie Caribbean Cask will eventually also be rolled out to the brand’s other key markets, including Taiwan, France and Canada in time.
