Olmeca eyes up Spain as Chocolate tequila fans

Olmeca Tequila is ‘strategically’ launching its Dark Chocolate flavoured variant of its Olmeca Fusion range into the Spanish market, where demand for short drinks is “currently very strong”.

Olmeca Fusion Dark Chocolate tequila is now available across Spain

The Dark Chocolate tequila is already currently available in its test markets of Greece, South Africa and Austria, but will get its Spanish introduction this month.

The launch of the 20% abv drink will be supported in Spain by Olmeca’s Release the Flavour consumer marketing events, which feature ice shot machines.

Olivier Fages, international vice president for Olmeca, Pernod Ricard’s original tequila brand, said the launch of the Fusion range was designed to entice young and new consumers to the category.

“While bartenders across the globe are really embracing Tequila with innovative and exciting cocktails, there is still huge scope to grow the other side of the category, by recruiting young, adventurous consumers,” he said.

“We are confident that this vibrant, refreshing range will be huge success for us, and look forward to monitoring its development following this latest launch in Spain.”

There is only one other product in the Olmeca Fusion range – Hibiscus – which also has an abc of 20% and is available in Greece and Austria.
