The team at the Oxfordshire hotel have been building a gin collection over the past three years, and have amounted a selection that includes some of the world’s rarest expressions.

An adjudicator from Guiness World Records visited The Feathers last week to assess its bar range, which features a bottle of Vincenzi 1950 (priced at £225) and Burnett’s White Satin 1960 (priced at £19.50 per glass).

Having counted 161 different varieties, The Feathers’ gin collection was officially deemed the largest in the world.

Jeremy Duplessis, general manager at the Feathers Hotel, said: “It’s absolutely fantastic to be crowned a Guinness World Record breaker.  We have been building on the collection for the last three years and have picked up gins from all corners of the world, so it’s great to have our efforts rewarded.”

The Feathers’ offers gins from around the world, including the US, Germany, Holland and Britain, and offers a seven-course Gin Experience tasting menu with matching gins for £75.
