Bombay Sapphire creates pop-up bar in London

Gin brand Bombay Sapphire is partnering with Indian cocktail bar Zenna in London’s Soho to open a new branded space named the Bombay Sapphire Blue Rooms.

The venue will open on 9 June, which is also World Gin Day, and will run throughout the summer until 9 September.

As well as a selection of Bombay Sapphire cocktails made by Zenna’s head mixologist Dan Thompson, the pop-up venue will offer visitors a chance to learn more about the brand ethos through a series of monthly masterclasses, including the ‘Bombay Sapphire Imaginarium and Flavour Experience’, and a set of brand inductions and cocktail competitions.

As its centre piece the bar will also feature a bespoke video montage by artist Jari Kutasi, showcasing and exploring the brand and its values.

The venue is designed to be a “space to escape from it all” over the summer, according to the UK brand ambassador for Bombay Sapphire, Sam Carter.

To heighten this sense of ‘cool’, designer Ross Hancock, Esquire’s Magazine’s Best Dressed Man 2010 has designed bespoke shirts for the Blue Room’s staff.

“Keeping in line with Bombay Sapphire gin’s clean understated elegance… and Zenna Bar’s relaxed cool attire, we’ve worked to bring the two together, creating something cool and sophisticated that is also rich, colourful and stylish,” Hancock explained. “Expect an Eastern influence and a touch of east London”.

Meanwhile Chase distillers has partnered with Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge to offer a summer pop-up selection of Herefordshire themed cocktails and nibbles (the distillery is based in Herefordshire) on its Fifth Floor, as well as masterclasses and a ‘meet the maker’ event. The pop-up will be running until 15 July.
