Bombay Sapphire launches two new films

Bombay Sapphire, the fastest growing premium gin in the world, has launched two new films working in partnership with London-based company Fellow Productions.

The first film is a 60 second commercial to promote Bombay Sapphire East – a new gin launched in the the United States this year. The film will be screened in US cinemas and major international airports from December.

Fellow Productions will soon be venturing East again for Bombay Sapphire to China, to film the origins of another ingredient liquorice root – one of the 10 botanicals used in Bombay Sapphire.

John Burke, global category director for Bombay Sapphire commented: “We are in the process of working with Fellow Productions on creating a series of films on location. Each film will focus on the hand-selected exotic botanicals that go into making the tantalising, smooth and complex taste of Bombay Sapphire”.

Fellow Productions has also recently produced a short film capturing the creation of the new Bombay Sapphire Limited Edition Bottle.

The bottle, which is hand blown and takes a day to make, has been created to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the 1761 recipe upon which Bombay Sapphire is based.
The jewelled crystal stopper, designed by Stephen Webster, creative director at Garrard, the world’s oldest jeweller, is set into a gold crown surrounded by sapphire blue crystals.

A sum total of 500 bottles have been created and will be retailed worldwide throughout 2012. The film will be shown in-store at point of purchase and at airports worldwide.

Commenting on the Bombay Sapphire films, Mark Ratcliff, director of Fellow Productions said:“We have greatly enjoyed working with such an inspirational brand like Bombay Sapphire, which truly allows us to create such beautiful films that are genuinely infused with imagination. Filming on location in Asia has really given us the opportunity to showcase the care and attention the artisans take to deliver this wonderful drink. The stunning locations have also brought the story and films alive.”
