Masters of Malt and CaskStrength.net team up for festive Bitters

Online retailers Masters of Malt have joined forces with CaskStrength.net to create Christmas themed bitters.

Made with 23 carat gold, frankincense and myrrh, the bitters are best used with rum, whisky or brandy based cocktails to add depth and a ‘Christmassy’ flavour. As well as the Biblical ingredients, there are festive seasonings such as cinnamon, nutmeg, clementines and cloves.

For those with a slightly perverse sense of fun – or a lot of patience – there’s a live webcam on the Masters of Malt website allowing bitters enthusiasts to work up a thirst by watching the liquid age in its cask, festively decked out with a “genuine-fake” Christmas tree complete with a Brian Blessed fairy and self-proclaimed tacky Christmas lights.

While the live streaming does not make for gripping extended viewing, it provides a moment of light entertainment and adds a sense of expectation to the bottling date of the finished product which is scheduled for 31 October.
