The liqueur is “made from the tears of humanely raised Unicorns”

“Made from the tears of humanely raised Unicorns”, the liqueur first came to our attention last year, and following “phenomenal success” it has returned for Christmas 2016 .

Part of the retailers ‘Created by Firebox’ range, batch two features a brand new look, and a fine-tuned – but still top secret – recipe comprising eight botanicals.

The resulting liquid is “high in juniper”, with notes of orange, lemon, coriander, and liquorice.

Kristian Bromley, Firebox’s managing director, said: “This gin liqueur is created in a secret location, using our free range Unicorn herd and our closely-guarded extraction process (patent-pending).

“For our second batch, we’ve improved our emotion harvesting technology, resulting in a bittersweet gin experience and an iridescent glittery appearance that will blow your mind.

“To give Unicorn tears their unique taste, we humanely force-feed these beautiful beasts entire wheelbarrows of citrus fruit, oranges, juniper berries, bunches of coriander, and sticks of liquorice.

“We then force down this concoction with a giant glittery pestle, like fantasy foie gras, and reap the tears as they fall.”

Firebox recommends serving the liquid as a Tears Collins, comprising Unicorn Tears Gin Liqueur, lemon juice, and soda; The Cosmopolicorn, which combines Unicorn Tears Gin Liqueur, Triple Sec, cranberry juice, and a garnish of lime and sprinkles.

Distilled in England and vegan; Unicorn Tears Gin Liqueur is part of the soon-to-be unveiled Mythical Tears range.

The expression is bottled at 40% abv, and is available to buy exclusively from the online retailer for £39.99.

Unicorn Tears Gin will be available for trade orders as of January 2017 – email trade@firebox.com for further information.
