BenRiach and GlenDronach expand ranges
The BenRiach Distillery Company, recently acquired by Brown-Forman, has launched new editions under its GlenDronach and namesake BenRiach labels.
BenRiach and GlenDronach have expanded their portfolios with a number of new Scotch whiskies
GlenDronach 14 Year Old Virgin Oak has been re-released as a special edition after first making its debut in July 2010.
Bottled at 46% abv, non-chill-filtered and with natural colour, the whisky has been initially matured in European oak casks and before moving to virgin oak casks for finishing.
“Six years ago we broke new ground by releasing four new GlenDronach Wood Finishes, the first to be released by the distillery in its 180-year history,” said the distillery’s sales director Alistair Walker.
“They were warmly received worldwide so today we’re re-releasing the 14 Year Old Virgin Oak Wood Finish and I’m confident it will win even more fans.”
The BenRiach Distillery Company has also released two new whiskies from the BenRiach Distillery – the BenRiach 17 Year Old Pedro Ximenez Sherry Wood Finish and the BenRiach 21 Year Old Tawny Port Wood Finish.
The 17-year-old expression, initially matured in American Bourbon barrels and bottled at 46% abv, has been launched to replace the brand’s 15-year-old expression.
The 21-year-old tawny Port expression is a brand new addition to the range and has also been first aged in American Bourbon barrels.
Brown-Forman completed its £281 million (US$405m) acquisition of The BenRiach Distillery Company and its three Scotch whisky brands – BenRiach, GlenDronach and Glenglassaugh – in June this year, marking it’s re-entry into the Scotch category.
