Breakthru makes first senior sales appointments
By Amy HopkinsNewly formed US drinks distribution company Breakthru Beverage Group has announced a number of key appointments to drive its commercial strategy.
Kevin O’Neil will oversee a dedicated sales and marketing team for Diageo and Moët Hennessy brand within Breakthru Beverage GroupThe company went live earlier this month following the integration of Charmer Sunbelt and Wirtz Beverage, marking the creation of one of the largest alcohol wholesalers and distributors in North America.
Having already revealed members of its executive leadership team, Breakthru has now appointed a team to oversee its sales and commercial efforts.
All will report directly to CEO Greg Baird and will “drive an integrated approach” across the US.
Bob Catalani has been named executive vice president of sales and marketing with responsibility for partners including Brown-Forman, Gallo and Proximo.
Kevin Roberts has also been appointed executive vice president of sales and marketing and will oversee work for William Grant & Sons, Rémy Martin, Stoli Group, Kobrand, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Miller-Coors and Heineken.

Brian Albenze, has taken on the role of executive vice president, commercial, and will oversee strategies to enhance the company’s commercial platform.
Maggie Lapcewich has stepped into the role of executive vice president, integration, and will work with Breakthru’s leadership team to ensure the “long-term” success of the merger of Charmer and Sunbelt.
Four regional presidents have also been appointed to oversee operations in the West, Midwest, East and South.
“Each of these leaders was selected for their insights and experiences, and we are excited to have a great mix of perspectives at the helm,” said Baird.
“Breakthru represents some of the best brands in the country, and this team is poised to drive our business forward by delivering for existing partners and capitalising on new found opportunities.”
All members of the sales team assumed their roles on 1 January 2016.
