Experts select limited edition Booker’s Bourbon
By Amy HopkinsA roundtable of whiskey experts has selected the third batch of limited edition Booker’s Bourbon for the brand’s 2015 collection.
Booker’s Bourbon Batch 2015-03: The Centre Cut has been selected by a roundtable of whiskey expertsBatch 2015-03: The Centre Cut is said to be the “ideal batch” for food pairing. It is named after late Beam master distiller Booker Noe’s favourite central location in the Beam “rackhouse” to age Bourbon, as well as his choice cut of meat.
His son Fred Noe, seventh generation master distiller for Beam, was helped by a team of whisky writers and experts, as well as Louisville chef Coby Ming, to select the batch.
While this is the third limited edition Booker’s Bourbon released in 2015, it is the first select by the whisky roundtable this year.
“It was dad’s tradition to gather friends around his kitchen table to taste and select the next batch of Booker’s Bourbon, and I’m proud to honor his legacy with this first roundtable selection of 2015,” said Fred Noe.
“This batch gives Booker’s Bourbon fans a look at the man behind the Bourbon. A man who enjoyed the simple things in life, including a strong, robust Bourbon, a juicy center cut of meat, and family and friends to enjoy it with.”
Uncut and unfiltered, The Centre Cut has been aged for seven years and is now available across the US at an RRP of US$54.99.
In 2013, Beam released its first batch of Booker’s Bourbon selected by a panel of experts.
