Woodford Reserve releases barrel aged cherry bitters

Woodford Reserve has partnered with Bourbon Barrel Foods to launch a barrel-aged Woodford Reserve Spiced Cherry Bitters – its first ever bitters product.

Woodford Reserve Spiced Cherry Bitters is designed to complement the bourbon brand in a classic Manhattan cocktail

Created to complement the bourbon brand in its signature Manhattan cocktail recipe, Woodford Reserve Spiced Cherry Bitters has been aged in the distillery’s old bourbon barrels.

The bitters, which contains an infusion of herbal essences, including gentian root, spices and cherry flavour, is the second collaboration between Woodford Reserve and Bourbon Barrel Foods, following the release of an bourbon barrel-aged Sorghum vinaigrette.

Chris Morris, master distiller for Woodford Reserve, said: “We are excited to partner with Bourbon Barrel Foods once again and to continue to extend the Woodford Reserve brand with the release of the Spiced Cherry Bitters which perfectly complements our bourbon’s unique flavor profile.

“The use of the Woodford Reserve Spiced Cherry Bitters in a Woodford Reserve cocktail will highlight the bourbon’s natural fruit and spice notes along with its smooth vanilla and caramel rich character.”

The bitters is available in 100ml bottles with an RRP of $15 from the Woodford Reserve Distillery shop, and online at www.woodfordreserveshop.com and www.bourbonbarrelfoods.com.
