Savoia brings Orancio to the US

The spiced orange wine aperitivo from Savoia has made its way stateside following an initial launch in the UK.

Savoia Orancio combines citrus flavours with ginger, saffron, and pomegranate

Italian aperitivo brand Savoia is bringing its Orancio expression to the US in January 2025. The 500ml bottles will be available in New York and California and nationwide online via Curiada for US$25.

Inspired by the adventures of Marco Polo, Orancio blends flavours of the East and West, reflecting the Silk Road’s trade influence on Italian culture. Savoia debuted the product in September 2023.

“Savoia Orancio pays tribute to the extraordinary Italian wine heritage,” said Italian spirits expert and Italicus creator Giuseppe Gallo. “Our latest creation combines authentic orange wine with spices from the East and citrus from the West, capturing a rich sensory experience in every sip.”

Orancio originally launched in the UK, with the amber-hued vino aperitivo gaining acclaim for its vibrant, citrus-forward profile and rich connection to Italy’s winemaking heritage.

The aperitivo is made using an ancient technique where grape skins are left to macerate in the must, resulting in an orange hue and flavourful aromatic profile. Notes of bitter orange, bergamot, and lime combine with ginger, saffron, and pomegranate, while herbs like gentian and rhubarb lend depth and warmth. Orancio is bottled at 17.2% ABV.

Savoia first entered the US in December 2022, partnering with distributor Panebianco Wines to launch its Americano Rosso expression.

In September this year, Savoia celebrated its third anniversary and launched the Spirit of Savoia programme, which programme highlights the aperitivo’s simplicity, versatility and social element.
