The Botanist offers customisable cocktails
By Lauren BowesRémy Cointreau-owned gin brand The Botanist has partnered with London bar The Botanist to create a sharing cocktail menu.
The Botanist bar on Sloane Square has revived its alfresco pop-up opposite in the bar in the square, and will now offer ‘infusion tables’. The drinks nod to the distillation process of The Botanist Gin, while allowing guests to tailor the cocktails to their preferred intensity and botanicals.
The drinks on offer include a Gimlet, which blends the Islay distillery’s gin, lime, elderflower cordial, cucumber, and mint; the Haar Negroni, which features gin, Carpano bitter infused with dark chocolate and coffee, Antica Formula, cinnamon, and orange; and the Island Spring, which blends gin, Belle de Brillet pear liqueur, lemon honey, strawberry, mint and Prosecco.
Each drink serves two and is presented in a glass vase with a tap, allowing guests to pour their drink at their ideal dilution. Garnishes and botanicals can be removed or left to infuse for a longer time to create different intensities of flavour.
Yesterday (3 September), The Botanist gin debuted a Distiller’s Strength expression, which was created with bartenders and cocktails in mind.
Rémy Cointreau’s sales dropped by 15.6% in the first quarter of 2024-2025, with stocking problems in the US market for Cognac spreading to its liqueurs and spirits division.
