ABK6 White Cognac launches in US
By Miona MadsenFamily-owned ABK6 Single Estate Cognac has created an expression exclusively for the US market that is designed for long drinks.
Made with floral eaux-de-vie, ABK6 White Cognac will be available in the US only through the brand’s partner distributor, Total Wine & More, from September.
The new addition to the range has a ‘fruity and floral character’, with ‘lightness and elegance’ and notes of apples, honey and white flowers.
Due to its ‘light and supple’ taste, the brand says the Cognac is perfect for cocktails and can also be enjoyed neat or on the rocks.
Although demand for Cognac is declining overall, ABK6 saw a 44% increase in profits in 2023, as it entered new export markets and continued to develop.
In addition to its core range, ABK6 produces Ice Cognac – designed to be enjoyed on the rocks – Pineau des Charentes and Cognac-based cinnamon, honey and orange liqueurs.
ABK6 was created in 2005 by Francis Abecassis. The brand condenses its creator’s family name, combining the Cognac’s two main values: modernity and family heritage.
In 2024, the company established a single estate Cognac training centre, Logic Abecassis, which invites distributors and partners to learn about the spirit in the heart of Grande Champagne. The centre offers programmes on Cognac production with masterclasses, cellar-master workshops, cocktail-making workshops and food-pairing sessions.
Francis Abecassis is one of the largest independent producers in the Cognac appellation, with 460 hectares of vineyards. The company also owns Reviseur, Leyrat and Grands Domaines Cognac brands.
Earlier this year, ABK6 revealed the fourth edition of its annual Artist Collection.
To celebrate World Cognac Day on 4 June, we rounded up 10 Cognacs that took home top honours at the 2024 Cognac Masters blind tasting.
