English brand Highclere Castle Gin reported a 29% increase in global sales during the first half of 2024, with plans to expand to Latin America.

The brand’s launch into new markets and scaled sales strategy fuelled the increase in sales from January to June 2024.

The company now projects profitability two years ahead of its original forecast.

Highclere cited SipSource data showing decreased depletions in the past 12 months. “Against this challenging environment, Highclere Castle Gin has outperformed the industry,” said Adam von Gootkin, co-founder and CEO of Highclere Castle Gin.

“This performance is led by the US, where collaborations with the largest spirit-buying collectives and national chains have strengthened retail partnerships, resulting in 21% growth.”

In 2024, Highclere Castle Gin entered numerous new markets and expanded existing partnerships. These include a launch in February in Italy with import distributor Proposta Vini, introduction into the Canadian market in Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac and its sister property, the Queen Ann Hotel, and expansion of worldwide duty-free presence with 2.0 & Partners in the EU, UK and Dubai.

The brand has also partnered with Compañia Licorera de Nicaragua for distribution across Nicaragua, with a planned launch in October. The launch marks Highclere Castle Gin’s entry into the South and Central American market and serves as a milestone for further regional expansion plans.

Earlier this year, the company invested significantly in digital and e-commerce initiatives to develop a proprietary platform to gain deeper insights into its customer base. The platform was implemented in Q2 and online bottle sales have increased by nearly 300% compared with 2023.

“As a brand that launched right before Covid, we’re used to operating in challenging times and having to pivot,” added von Gootkin. “During the recent economic pressure, we’ve made the right decisions about where to direct our focus and resources, and the results are clear. I couldn’t be prouder of our team.”

Highclere Castle Gin was launched in 2019 and is crafted from botanicals sourced from the namesake castle estate, owned and resided by two of the brand’s co-founders, the eighth Earl and Countess of Carnarvon.

Highclere Castle is internationally renowned as the filming location for the popular TV series Downton Abbey.

In June this year, the brand offered US residents an opportunity to win a three-day trip for two to Highclere Castle in September.
