The name change reflects a continued investment in spirits worldwide for the family-owned wine company.

California-based Foley Family Wines is changing its name and corporate identity to Foley Family Wines & Spirits.

The family-owned company, which was founded in 1996, has moved further into the spirits space since acquiring its first distillery in May 2023, broadening its spirits portfolio and adding a number of high-profile brands to its import roster.

“We are committed to continuing to build a portfolio of spirits consistent with the quality of our ultra-premium and luxury wines and our network of estate wineries,” chief marketing officer Jason Daniel said.

“As a natural next step, our corporate identity now reflects the breadth of our platform. We are excited about the pace of Foley’s strategic expansion and the exceptional quality and credibility of our growing portfolio of award-winning spirits.”

The change comes after a wave of moves signalling Foley’s significant interest in spirits. In 2023, the company expanded its breadth of offerings by relaunching the Charles Goodnight Texas Straight Bourbon and Lighthouse Gin in Zealand.

In May 2023, it announced that it had purchased Minden Mill Distilling in Nevada.

In addition to these pursuits, Foley has struck partnerships with a number of other spirits brands.

In April 2024, Foley was appointed the exclusive import agent of El Mexicano Tequila in the US and globally outside Mexico, while that same month, they formed an agency partnership with Scotch whisky producer Loch Lomond Group.

In May, Foley added Irish whiskey makers Two Stacks and Killowen to its distribution portfolio.
