The Secret of Sustainable Sips is ‘a match made in sustainable mixology heaven’

Avra’s Great Sunday Club is hosting a bar takeover featuring Alquímico from Cartagena and Athens’ The Bar in Front of the Bar, described as ‘a match made in sustainable mixology heaven’.

The Secret of Sustainable Sips will see the two world-famous bars shake up innovative drinks made with Avra garden produce.

The event will include exclusive cocktails made with Mataroa Mediterranean Dry Gin (Mataroa MDG) and the new edition Mataroa Happy, an 11% ABV spirit made with cannabis and damiana.

“At Avra, connecting with people on the same sustainability path as us is a core value,” said Manon Kapfer, bar manager of Avra.

“This takeover is all about sharing stories of innovation and creation, and taking steps forward together. We want to show how it’s possible to shake up the bar industry in a fun, creative and planet-friendly way.”

Kapfer will be joined at the event by Jean Trinh, Miguel Mora and Paola Oviedo from Alquímico, number nine on the World’s 50 Best Bars list, and the team from The Bar in Front of the Bar, which is on the World’s 50 Best Discovery list.

The Secret of Sustainable Sips will be held from 6.30pm to 10pm on 26 May at Avra Bar in Athens, Greece.

To start the weekend, the bars’ creatives and sustainable drink brand partners will host a picnic and panel talk in Avra’s gardens on Saturday 25 May at 2pm.

The picnic will be open to the members of the bar industry as well as curious guests.
