Cindy Crawford creates Casamigas Jalapeño Tequila
Supermodel Cindy Crawford and the founders of Casamigos, including George Clooney, have created a jalapeño-flavoured Tequila called Casamigas.
Casamigas Jalapeño Tequila was also worked on by fellow Casamigos co-founders Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman.
The ultra-premium Casamigas is made from Casamigos Blanco Tequila, which is crafted entirely from Blue Weber agave. The Tequila is naturally flavoured with jalapeños to give a spicy kick.
Crawford, who is married to Gerber, said: “As much as I love Casamigos, my go-to drink for a fun night is a skinny, spicy Casamigos Margarita.
“Casamigas Jalapeño makes it that much easier. It’s Casamigos with a kick.”
Bottled at 40% ABV, Casamigas Jalapeño Tequila is available throughout the US priced at RRP US$49.99 per 750ml bottle, and RRP US$60.99 for a one-litre bottle.
Tasting notes include spicy jalapeños with hints of citrus and sweet agave.
Gerber added: “Cindy has been part of the Casamigos journey since day one, and I’m excited that she now gets to put her special touches on Casamigas. It’s been over six years in the making.”
The bottle design for the new expression remains true to Gerber’s original look, but with added flames of fire in a nod to the spice from the jalapeños. Furthermore, the ‘o’ on the original ‘Casamigos’ name has been crossed out and replaced with an ‘a’ for ‘Casamigas’.
Additionally, the founders’ initials have been crossed out and replaced with ‘CC’ for Crawford. The model’s signature has also been added between Clooney and Gerber’s signatures.
In January last year, Casamigos was named the top-selling celebrity-backed spirit on e-commerce platform Drizly.
Diageo acquired Casamigos in 2017, in a deal worth up to US$1 billion.
