Angel’s Envy kicks off Manhattan week in the UK
Bacardi-owned American whiskey distiller Angel’s Envy has teamed up with bars around London and Edinburgh to celebrate the Manhattan cocktail.
Running until Wednesday 21 February, more than 21 bars in the two cities will be making a riff on the cocktail using Angel’s Envy Bourbon – with each drink priced from £10.50 (US$13).
A Manhattan is typically made with three ingredients: whiskey, sweet vermouth, and bitters. Both Bourbon and rye are commonly used.
Sophia Rosser, UK brand ambassador for Angel’s Envy Bourbon Whiskey, said: “Consumers are drinking less and better – more premium spirits and higher-quality, crafted drinks (according to the 2024 Bacardi Cocktail Trends Report).
“The Manhattan is an enduring favourite of bartenders and cocktail drinkers alike. It is simple and delicate, and lends itself perfectly to a premium Bourbon, such as Angel’s Envy. Our Bourbon is finished in ruby port barrels, pairing harmoniously with Manhattan’s other main ingredient, sweet vermouth, and providing the perfect canvas for small twists and variations.
“In a Manhattan, the flavours of the Bourbon take the lead and shine through, which is why the complexity and depth of flavour you get with Angel’s Envy makes it perfect for this classic cocktail.”
