Bemakers expands across Europe
By Lauren BowesDanish distributor Bemakers will now provide business-to-business (B2B) sales in the Netherlands.
The brand already offers direct-to-consumer (DTC) sales in the region.
“By unlocking the B2B market in the Netherlands, we’re not just extending our reach – we’re providing a launchpad for our brand partners to scale effortlessly, tap into new revenue streams and make meaningful connections with Dutch customers,” said Morten Stengaard, co-founder and CEO of Bemakers.
The distributor is also a supplier for Systembolaget, Sweden’s state-owned liquor retail chain, which is one of the biggest alcohol buyers in the world.
“Being listed with Systembolaget not only enhances your brand perception but is a staple in the Swedish consumer culture,” explained Stengaard.
To coincide with its Netherlands expansion, Bemakers has introduced a new B2B shop interface to streamline the buying experience.
“This [B2B shop] feature enables direct sales and offers a convenient, self-service portal for customers who prefer an automated approach to purchasing. Of course, traditional methods like phone and email ordering remain available,” continued Stengaard.
The brand has also launched a ‘game-changing’ integration with Shopify that will help alcohol brands sell products compliantly across borders by automating tax and excise handling.
“We’re thrilled to support the alcohol brands already using Shopify,” said Stengaard. “This integration enables them to grow their business without having to change their storefront and with a few simple steps they can sell their products directly and compliantly to end-consumers across European markets.
“With this integration, we have removed major barriers to entry and growth that alcohol beverage brands have previously been facing.”
As well as entering new markets and releasing technology innovations, Bemakers has recently partnered with two alcohol producers: Coconut Cartel rum, and Spicehaus, a ready-to-drink brand.
The distributor also secured a deal with gin brand In The Welsh Wind earlier this year.
