Seven Tails and Schofield’s Bar plan guest shifts
Brandy producer Seven Tails Distillers is teaming up with Manchester-based Schofield’s Bar for a series of guest bartending shifts across Europe.
Taking place over the coming months, the guest shifts will see Seven Tails co-founder Joel Fraser join brothers, Daniel and Joe Schofield, in European cities such as Barcelona, Rome and Paris as the trio put their own spins on classic cocktails using Seven Tails brandy.
Schofield’s Bar, which opened in May 2021, recently nabbed the UK’s Best Bar accolade at the Class Bar Awards for the second year on the trot.
Joe Schofield, as recognised both in The World’s 50 Best Bars and Tales of the Cocktail (TOTC) 2018, has held the title of ‘World’s Best Bartender’ – while Daniel found himself placed in the top four for ‘International Bartender of The Year’ at TOTC’s 2023 Spirited Awards.
The bartending duo invested in Seven Tails last year, so the brand’s spirits could branch out to other bars besides their own.
Now, it can be seen in Soho House, Hawksmoor and well-regarded New York drinking establishments Dante, Attaboy and Satan’s Whiskers.
Daniel Schofield commented: “We thoroughly believe in Seven Tails, we find it an incredibly innovative brand that redefines the category. We are thrilled to be part of such an exciting business.”
Fraser and Joe Schofield first met when they worked together at Singapore’s Tippling Club. They have been close friends ever since.
The first guest shift is happening in Barcelona on 3 October, at 14 De La Rosa.
Seven Tails Distillers previously worked with Joe Schofield and six other bartenders to raise money for Refuge Against Domestic Violence.
In November 2022, Seven Tails debuted what is believed to the world’s first spiced brandy, and in February of this year, secured the house pour for its XO expression in British Airways lounges at Heathrow Airport.
The XO expression also won a Gold medal at The Brandy Masters 2021 blind tasting.
