The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Young Won Trading Distribution began distributing alcoholic beverages in North Carolina (NC) 30 years ago.

The purchase will enhance RNDC’s portfolio of sake, soju, Korean wine, baijiu and Asian beer.

Bob Hendrickson, RNDC chief operations officer, said: “We’re excited to expand our footprint with this purchase.

“This increases business in VA [Virginia], MD [Maryland], DC [Washington DC], PA [Pennsylvania] and expands our distribution to NC.

“We are excited to continue to broaden our beverage portfolio.”

RNDC is the second biggest wine and spirits distributor in the US, covering both the US on-trade and off-trade. The company currently has partnerships in 38 states across the US.

In December 2022, RNDC invested in alcohol e-commerce site Thirstie. Thirstie was established in 2014 by Maxim Razmakhin and Devaraj Southworth.

RNDC created a dedicated craft spirits division in June last year, called The Artisan Group.

Meanwhile, in October 2022, vodka producer Victor George Spirits secured a multi-state distribution deal in the US with the distributor.

In other distribution news, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, the biggest alcohol distributor in the US, bought a stake in alcohol e-commerce platform Reserve Bar for an undisclosed amount.
