Ukiyo vodka owner Kirker Greer Spirits has promoted John Soden to president of Americas, a new role in its international sales department.

Soden has previously worked at Edrington and Pernod Ricard

In the newly created role, Soden will contribute to the direction and growth of the company in the States. He will also lead the US-based sales and operations as the business develops its distribution network and market share.

Soden, who was previously chief commercial officer for Kirker Greer, said: “I’m thrilled to take on this new role for Kirker Greer Spirits, to spearhead our ambitious growth and distribution strategy for the Americas and deliver positive results.

“Kirker Greer Spirits is a dynamic and innovative company, and I am excited to work with our team to continue building our business and expanding our reach across the Americas. We have a clear strategic direction and growth strategy in place, and I look forward to executing on that plan in the coming years.”

Soden’s previous roles include business unit director at Pernod Ricard, managing director at Castle Brands, and vice-president of strategy and development at The Macallan owner Edrington.

CEO Steven Pattison said: “John has vast knowledge of the industry and the Americas region, with significant time spent in-market before joining Kirker Greer Spirits.

“He will use this experience to identify opportunities for growth and development as we seek to unlock the huge potential that awaits across the Americas, including North, Central, and South America.

“Effective immediately, the promotion is the first in a series of exciting announcements from Kirker Greer Spirits, as we continue to invest in our global footprint, build distribution and expand our team.”

The company is a division of Drinksology Kirker Greer (DKG).

The subdivision owns, manages, and distributes a range of spirits brands internationally, including Japanese spirits brand Ukiyo; Kirker Shamrock Whiskey; Ginato Italian Gin; and Jawbox Irish Gin.

In April, Kirker Shamrock created six bottles of a special edition 25-year-old blended whiskey, which were given to political figures ‘pivotal’ to the signing of the Good Friday Agreement.
