Ezra Brooks unveils two new bottlings

American spirits producer Luxco has extended its Ezra Brooks line with a rye whiskey and a Bourbon cream.

The new rye clocks in at 49.5% ABV, while the Bourbon Cream rests at 16.5% ABV

Ezra Brooks 99 Straight Rye Whiskey and Bourbon Cream will be released in the US later this month (May).

“Based on the success of the 99 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, we have elevated the proof for both the the Rye and Bourbon Cream variants,” said Eric Winter, brand manager for Ezra Brooks.

“The 99 Rye drinkers will find the same great rye whiskey taste, but with enhanced flavour delivered by the higher proof. Similarly, our new Ezra Brooks Bourbon Cream delivers a bolder, richer expression of the Bourbon cream flavour our customers love.”

The rye whiskey contains a 51% rye mash bill and is charcoal filtered, clocking in at 49.5% ABV. With notes of chocolate, leather and vanilla, it is offered in ‘upscale packaging’.

Meanwhile, the Bourbon Cream is crafted with ‘natural’ cream, and Kentucky Straight Bourbon, resting at 16.5% ABV.

Tasting notes include buttery caramel, sweet toffee, and sweet pecan.

In February last year, Luxco launched Ezra Brooks 99 Bourbon in the UK and European markets.

In 2021, The Spirits Business spoke with the brand manager for the Luxco-owned Bourbon, Eric Winter.

Luxco also owns the Yellow Stone brand, which produced its first American single malt whiskey in March this year.
