Sangam World Malt Whisky will launch in April

Sangam World Malt Whisky will launch in the UK, the EU, the US, Singapore, Australia and travel retail in April.

Bottled at 43% ABV, the whisky will retail for RRP £54.99 (US$67) per 700ml bottle.

‘Sangam’ derives from the Hindi word meaning ‘confluence’, the merging together of two rivers to make something “bigger than their parts”, explained Sanjeev Banga, Radico Khaitan’s president of international business.

He added: “Sangam World Malt Whisky represents our commitment to excellence and our dedication to delivering only the highest quality spirits to our customers. We have worked tirelessly to create a product that not only meets but exceeds the expectations of whisky lovers around the globe.

“Our team of experts has spent countless hours perfecting the blend, ensuring that every sip of Sangam World Malt Whisky is a truly unforgettable experience. From the aroma to the finish, every aspect of this whisky has been carefully crafted to deliver a smooth, rich, and indulgent taste.

“We are confident that Sangam World Malt Whisky will become a favourite among whisky connoisseurs worldwide and joins the other expressions from Rampur Distillery including Rampur Indian Single Malt Whiskies and Jaisalmer Indian Craft Gins.”

Tasting notes include aromas of tropical fruits – lychee, green apple, pear and apricot. The palate is said to be ‘complex’ with more fruit and ‘delicate peaty and salty notes’. The finish is described as pleasantly long.

These were the world’s biggest-selling Indian whisky brands in 2021.
