Ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail brand Tapp’d has landed a nationwide distribution deal with Molson Coors Limited, a subsidiary of Molson Coors Beverage (MCB).

The Essex-based brand says the deal will unlock more than 45,000 on-trade venues and 11,000 accounts across the UK, including companies such as Compass Group and Centre Parks.

Managing director Tony Plato commented: “We are honoured to have agreed a partnership with MCB (UK).

“This is the most significant agreement in our five-year history to date, and a clear sign of our ambitions and intent in our drinks being made available in the fullness of time across the world.

“On behalf of Tapp’d and our wider community I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers and consumers for their support on our business journey and vision in making Tapp’d the most loved RTD cocktail brand in the world.”

Molson Coors Ltd is said to be the second largest brewer, manufacturer and distributor in the UK, with more than 20% market share.

The distributor says it intends to support the growth of Tapp’d Cocktails by expanding the brand throughout the UK, as the consumer demand for RTD cocktails continues to grow.

The RTD market is projected to see 11.43% year-on-year growth in 2023.

The distribution deal will ‘open up’ London for Tapp’d Cocktails, as well as provide access to more remote areas in the UK.

Since its launch in 2018, Tapp’d Cocktails has seen ‘roaring success’ in the UK, with direct-to-consumer sales ‘booming’, and a trial launch into Morrisons in East Anglia which is set to expand nationwide in 2023.

Tapp’d Cocktails is available in more than 15,000 UK pubs, having forged strong partnerships with key wholesalers.

Having originally launched in bottled format, the brand has also expanded into the canned market to target younger drinkers and increase availability at more portable occasions, such as festivals.
